Biography

Edit

Rancid is a punk band at the forefront of the American punk revival of the 1990s. Although earlier albums failed to attract mainstream appeal, the collective interest in the burgeoning punk scene saw their fame increase with each release. Their third album …And Out Came the Wolves (1995) achieved platinum sales, while their most recent, Indestructible (2003) reached No.15 on the Billboard charts, their highest position to date.

In 2003 the band went on an extended hiatus and the members became involved in side projects including The Transplants and Lars Frederiksen and the Bastards and various solo efforts. 2006 saw the band emerge from hiatus to play a series of gigs and record a new album. They are returning to the studio to release a new album in 2012- their 20th year in existence.
