Melodic hardcore band Rise Against were formed in 1999 and its members were drawn from 88 Fingers Louie. They released The Unraveling (2001) and Revolutions Per Minute (2003) and toured extensively.
They switched record labels and released Siren Song of the Counter Culture in 2004. When The Sufferer and the Witness was released in 2006 it went platinum. A new album is expected in 2008.
The band has seen several changes in line-up but the current members are Tim McIlrath (lead-vocals, guitar), Zach Blair (guitar, vocals), Joe Principe (bass, vocals) and Brandon Barnes (drums).
