Robert Cray continues his journey into soul that he began in earnest with Sweet Potato Pie (a virtual tribute to the late great Otis Redding). 1 stars a disappointing turn of events
It seems R. Cray continues to evolve from the blues style that won him his success in the first place. If you want to hear from top notch Robert Cray, check out one of his first three albums (or anything with his original band). If you want to hear Robert Cray doing Otis Redding, this may be the place to start. It's disappointing to see this great talent being wasted. Time to get the old band together.
