Bought this one to slake nostalgia ....I remembered this recording from when it was first released. I remembered its title with great fondness, and the song "Smack Dab in the Middle" is part of my "permanent soundtrack." Of course, Ry Cooder has always been a master guitarist, and Flaco Jimenez plays a mean accordion, so you can't go too wrong. Still, listening today, I must say the song choices (with the aforementioned exception) are not particularly memorable. I believe one might be better off with Paradise & Lunch--or perhaps even…
