Exclusive New Ryan Adams Video: I Love You But
Oct, 11 2011
We are happy to bring you this exclusive acoustic video of Ryan Adams singing "I Love You But I Don't Know What To Say." For the next two days, SoundUnwound and Amazon's Ryan Adam's store are the only places DRA fans can view this video- so, spread the word!
Today, Ryan Adam's first full length album of new, non-metal material since 2008's Cardinology was released. Ashes & Fire is drawing comparisons to beloved albums like Heartbreaker and Cold Roses, and heavily features the lovely stylings of Norah Jones on piano as well as Adam's wife Mandy Moore on BGVs.
To shop Ryan Adam's vast catalog of music, head over to his Amazon Artist Store and pick up Ashes & Fire.

New Music Tuesday: Ryan Adams is back with III/IV
Dec, 14 2010
Tuesday, Ryan Adams makes his triumphant return to the list of new releases with III/IV. Once the type of artist that released three records in one year (29, Cold Roses, and Jacksonville City Nights), Adams has been uncharacteristically quiet for the past year and a half. After a final concert with his touring band The Cardinals in April of 2009, Adams took some time off from music to release a few books (Infinity Blues and Hello Sunshine), get married to Mandy Moore, and become one of my favorite people on Twitter (@TheRyanAdams).
III/IV was recorded in 2007 during the sessions for Easy Tiger with the Cardinals. What was supposed to be a two week stint in the studio turned into six months of creativity, resulting in Easy Tiger and now III/IV. The two-disc album features 21 previously unreleased songs.
Stream the record before you buy it on Adam's MySpace page here.

Ryan Adams Inspired By Dio's "Beautiful" Funeral
Jun, 12 2010
Ryan Adams described his new album, Orion, as his "first fully-realized sci-fi metal concept album," but as a very limited edition, only a few die-hard fans managed to enjoy Adams’ genre experiment for themselves. However, there’s good news for patient Ryan Adams fans: there’s a follow-up on the way, and even though it may be significantly mellower than Orion, signs are that he hasn’t quite finished with metal yet.
Adams took as his inspiration the recent death of legendary rock vocalist Ronnie James Dio, who died from stomach cancer last month. Having attended the funeral, which he described as "epic, beautiful and heartwarming," Adams found himself inspired to be creative. "11 new solo tunes just came out of nowhere," he wrote on his Facebook page. "Day after Dio's funeral they just fell out. Soft mellow acoustic jams -- lots of New Orleans scenery and vibe from the trip."
Adams added "I am officially very excited again," and though there's no word yet of an intended release date, his fans will soon be very excited too.

Ryan Adams
Jan, 20 2009
Former Whiskeytown singer Ryan Adams, now ten albums into his solo career, has announced the disbandment of his band The Cardinals so that he can take a break and deal with some health problems. "Atlanta [20 March] will be my last venture with the band and I am grateful for the time we have had and maybe someday we will have more stories to tell together," he wrote on his blog. "I am, however, ready for quieter times as I think it is very evident I am struggling with some balance and hearing issues." Adams is referring to inner-ear problems which cause him "tremendous pain and nausea" during gigs, which some audience members have mistook to be drunkenness. Now he's going to avoid that by steering clear of music for a while. "I need a life that is mine – I need to grow up and grow into who I have subtly been working back towards... Love is the great teacher and I am happy to be learning now. Happy to be listening to that over this never ending painful ringing."
