The Sa-Ra Creative Partners or Sa-Ra (pronounced sah rah) are the experimental production collective Taz Arnold, Shafiq Husayn and Om'Mas Keith.Their impressionist take on hip-hop has made them the in-demand collaborators with a who's who of hip-hop including Dr. Dre, Lauryn Hill and Diddy.
Arnold and Husyn had been acquaintances for 10 years, with solo production careers behind them, before forming the group with Keith in 2000. They originally worked behind the scenes providing production, but in 2004 they started releasing mix tapes and 12 inch singles. Amongst their tracks from that period, "Glorious" is highly rated - described as slow motion afro-futurist psychedelia - and contributed to a major-label frenzy surrounding the band, with the group finally plumping for Kanye West's G.O.O.D. Music label for their debut LP. The Hollywood Recordings album, which is a mix of their earlier releases (including Glorious) and some new material, was well received by critics on its release.
