Biography

Edit

Saosin are a California-based post-hardcore/screamo band formed in 2003. A rigorous touring schedule spread the word about the band and resulted in a Top 30 place for their debut album.

The band were formed by former members of As Hope Dies, Slayer and Open Hand. They took their name, pronounced “say ocean”, from a Chinese proverb - which approximately means “small heart”.

The reviews for their Translating the Name EP were good and the band took to the road to build their fanbase. They had quite a following by the time they were ready to release their self-titled debut album in 2006. The critics were impressed, as were the fans, and the album made the Top 30 of the Billboard charts. More touring followed, and a DVD from a gig in Philadelphia is planned for 2008.
