Silky voiced Seal rose to prominence as a result of his collaboration with Adamski for the UK No.1 hit "Killer" in 1990.
The result of "Killer" was that Seal was signed to ZTT Records and released his debut album, 1991's Seal. The singles "Crazy" and his version of "Killer" charted well. In 1994 he released a second album, also called Seal, which received a Grammy nomination for Album of the Year. One of the singles from that album was "Kiss From a Rose" which, after featuring in Batman Forever, won a Grammy award and found worldwide success.
Human Being was released in 1998, but relations with his producer and label bosses had been rocky, and worse still the album was panned by critics. Togetherland was intended to follow-up Human Being in 2001 but Seal scrapped the whole album, concerned that it simply didn't make the grade. Fans had to hold out for 2003's Seal which fared passably well.
Seal: Best 1991-2004 was the next outing, but for new material the fans had to wait for System (2007). The album was a return to his dance-oriented past and featured the Grammy-nominated single “Amazing”.
