Sevendust is the self-titled first album by American alternative metal band Sevendust. The Japan reissue has live versions of "Bitch" and "Prayer" as ending bonus tracks. Sevendust appeared on the Billboard 200, remained there for sixteen weeks and peaked at 165 on April 4, 1998. The album went gold on May 19, 1999.

"My Ruin" appeared on the Mortal Kombat: More Kombat album, credited under the band's original name, "Crawlspace". "Too Close to Hate" appeared on the Masterminds album.

The song "Terminator" featured in MTV television series Celebrity Deathmatch.

5 stars a solid debut release.
I first saw this band at a local venue here in Atlanta 95' or 96' prior to this release. A lil history here... they were under the name "Crawlspace" at the time and i still have the six-song cassette tape i bought from that show to prove it. Those orignal songs went on this debut cd release.

Side 1. Terminator, Speak, Black.

Side 2. Bitch, Face, Prayer.

They cleaned them up a bit for the cd but they still sound close to the demo tape.

Now there is already a band with the "Crawlspace" name so…

3 stars for fans of their newer stuff...not the best bet
This album shows all of what would come from Sevendust, but it doesnt quite have the same quality of songwriting as they have developed. For those of you who have been appealed to sevendust by "Animosity" and "Seasons," you will be disappointed to find that though it is there, the melodic brilliance of sevendust is not showcased on this album.
