Siouxsie Sioux (born Susan Janet Ballion on 27 May 1957 in London), is an English singer-songwriter. She is best known for her work as the lead singer of the rock band Siouxsie and the Banshees (1976-1996) and of its splinter group The Creatures (1981-2005). She has also sung with artists such as Morrissey and John Cale. In 2004, she began a solo career.
Siouxsie is considered to be "one of the most influential British singers of the rock era".
Her music has influenced a variety of artists including LCD Soundsystem Tricky Jeff Buckley Massive Attack and TV on the Radio.
She was also rated the number seven female rock artist by Q magazine in 2002.
