Rapper and producer Sir Mix-A-Lot was born with the somewhat duller name of Anthony Ray in Seattle in 1963. He is best known for the 1992 hit single "Baby Got Back", which started with the famous line "I like big butts and I cannot lie". It stayed at No.1 in the US pop charts for 5 weeks and won him a Grammy for Best Rap Solo Performance. He had previously enjoyed other hits, including "Buttermilk Biscuits" and "Square Dance Rap" (1988), "Beepers" (1989) and "My Hooptie" (1990).
