Snoop Dogg: His Highness Dedicates “Wet” Track to Royals
Dec, 2 2010
Perhaps the oddest bit of news surrounding the impending Royal nuptials of Prince William and Kate Middleton is the rumor that the Prince’s younger brother, Harry, has been in contact with Snoop Dogg about a possible appearance at William’s bachelor party.
In anticipation, the Doggfather has released a risqué track called “Wet,” which according to his website, is “The perfect anthem for Prince William or any playa to get the club smoking.” The track boasts a “hypnotizing beat” and “alluring and lustful lyrics.” The less-than-subtle lyrical double entendre – an ode to all things moist - spreads like vapor as delivered by a drawling, Auto-Tuned Snoop.
Perhaps the Long Beach rapper has erred on the side on informality. It’s doubtful the second in line to the throne is remotely close to being a “playa,” and the marriage will, after all, put Ms. Middleton in line to be the Queen of England.
Snoop Dogg’s website encourages fans to create their own videos dancing to the song and submit them to YouTube. The video garnering the most views wins its creator and a friend a trip to the U.K. on Snoop’s dime to “celebrate the release of “Wet” in royal fashion.”
The single also will appear on Snoop's upcoming album Doggumentary Music, due in March 2011.

Snoop Dogg Denied By Dutch
Jun, 19 2010
Just a week before he was due to headline one of Europe's biggest music festivals, Snoop Dogg has been barred from the city where it will be held by its mayor. The free Parkpop festival in The Hague, Netherlands, was due to commence next weekend, but organizers have been asked to find someone to replace Snoop "in order to be able to guarantee the open and friendly character and free admission of Parkpop."
Ducos Productions say they are "very annoyed" at having to find a replacement this close to the event, which is expected to be attended by 350,000 people. Snoop is a regular visitor to the Netherlands, and is known to take full advantage of the country's relaxed stance on marijuana. During a performance in Amsterdam in 2008, he smoked several joints while onstage and was joined by country singer Willie Nelson, a well-known pro-marijuana activist.
Snoop was barred from entering the U.K. between 2007 and March this year following a fracas at Heathrow Airport, London, involving his entourage; he was also barred from entering Australia for a year due to prior criminal convictions.

It's The Joke-Telling D-O-Double-G
Mar, 10 2010
Few would deny that Snoop Dogg already has many strings to his bow, and he’s just about to add another by performing alongside stand-up comedian Mike Epps. Imagine That is a comedy stage show which tells the tale of two night-club performers who end up in prison and have to find their way out. Though the concept is unusual, Snoop Dogg is convinced it already has an audience waiting to see it: “We’ve worked together in the past on some projects and knew that our audiences would love to see us bring Hip-Hop music and Hip-Hop comedy together on stage.”
The recent death of Ron Banks, founder of The Dramatics -- the group which inspired a plethora of hip-hop samples and a particular favorite of the Doggfather -- may have dented Snoop’s mood recently, but this latest venture will find him too busy to stay down for long. In addition to the new comedy show, he appears on the new Gorillaz album Plastic Beach and is still promoting the December release of his latest album Malice N Wonderland.
