Doggystyle is the debut solo album from American West Coast hip hop rapper Snoop Doggy Dogg, released November 23, 1993 on Death Row Records. The album was recorded soon following the release of Dr. Dre's landmark debut album The Chronic (1992), to which Snoop Dogg contributed significantly. His musical stylizations for the album share similarity to those featured on Doggystyle. Critics have praised Snoop Dogg for the lyrical "realism" he delivers on the album and for his distinctive vocal flow.

I bought this CD in 1993 when the original version came out. It had 19 tracks, not 18 or 13. The real track 18 is "Gz Up, Hoes Down" and Track 19 is "Pump, Pump." I didn't even realize that later releases had tracks removed until I started looking for the album art for my iPod.

This album is a classic. if you want to buy it try to get the original with NINETEEN TRACKS. Don't allow yourself to miss Snoop in his full artistic form. This is definitely one of the Top Ten CD of All Time.

3 stars 5 star album; 3 star dual disc
I found this dual disc re-issue of Doggystyle to be a complete waste of money. For one, The digi-pack packaging was so cheaply made, it broke the minute I opened it. Second, The bonus track, "G'z Up H--s Down" That didn't make it on the original pressing due to sample clearance issues wasn't added. The song samples "The Look of Love" by Isaac Hayes just like 'Rain on Me' by Ashanti and it made it onto 15 Years on Death Row so my guess would be that Hayes approved the sample. So I do not see why …
