Biography

Edit

Canadian indie-pop band Stars formed in Toronto in 2000, but are now part of the burgeoning Montreal indie scene. Three of the members are also in Broken Social Scene: founder and singer Torquil Campbell, Amy Millan and Evan Cranley. They first earned attention through their second album Heart (2003). Set Yourself On Fire (2004) was critically acclaimed and nominated for a Juno Award for Alternative (Canadian) Album of the Year. The band's profile was helped by their songs regularly appearing on television shows, such as The O.C.. They released their fourth album In Our Bedroom After The War in 2007, to more praise from magazines and websites.
