Overview Edit

"The Lone Ranger" is the 1995 solo début album from Madness frontman Suggs (aka Graham McPherson). It features a mixture of well known covers (e.g Simon and Garfunkle's "Cecilia" and the The Beatles' "I'm Only Sleeping") and original songs (the track "4 A.M" would later be recorded by Madness and appears on their 1999 release "Wonderful"). His Madness bandmates Mike Barson & Carl Smyth both co-wrote songs on the album (Barson also played on it and co-produced several tracks), whilst Sly & Robbie also assisted in the album's production. All five singles released from the album made it into the UK Top 40 singles chart, with "I'm Only Sleeping" reaching number 7 and "Cecilia" making number 4 in 1996 whilst the album itself reached number 14 on the UK album chart.
