Taking Back Sunday is a rock band from Long Island, NY, formed in 1999 by guitarist Eddie Reyes. Current members of the band are Adam Lazzara (lead vocalist), John Nolan (guitar / vocals), Eddie Reyes (guitar), Shaun Cooper (bass) and Mark O'Connell (drums).
The band has released 3 studio albums with past various members Fred Mascherino (former guitarist / background vocalist), Matthew Rubano (former bassist), and Matthew Fazzi (former guitarist / background vocalist). The original Tell All Your Friends line-up had released only 2 studio albums.
Louder Now (2006), is the bands breakout album, notably for the single "MakeDamnSure". The album has sold over 900,000+ copies and has peaked at #2 in the United States Billboard 200, closely followed by Where You Want to Be (2004), which peaked at #3 in 2004. Before the release of their first studio album Tell All Your Friends (2002), they had released Taking Back Sunday EP (2001), in which the band previously varied of former vocalist Antonio Longo, Jesse Lacey (bass / who later formed with Brand New) and Steven DeJoseph (drums / later replaced by Mark O'Connell). At the time, the EP received very little attention which eventually resulted in the band seeking a new singer. Adam Lazzara had later stepped into the spot for vocals.
John Nolan and Shaun Cooper had previously left the band in 2003 only to reform later on and release their eponymous album Taking Back Sunday on June 28, 2011. The album was produced by Eric Valentine and released through Warner Bros. Records.
