Biography

Edit

The Blues Brothers are an American blues/soul band born as characters developed by comedians Dan Ackroyd and John Belushi for a musical sketch on Saturday Night Live in 1978. The concept developed into a real band and the duo released a double-platinum album Briefcase Full Of Blues in 1978. By 1980, the star-strewn Blues Brothers film appeared, and became a firm favourite.

Though Belushi died in 1982, the momentum of the band lived on, with guest musicians (including John's brother (Jim Belushi) taking on the Blues Brothers characters .

In 1998 a poorly received second Blues Bothers film appeared and in 2004, The Blues Brothers Revival hit the stage for the first time in Chicago.
