Biography

Edit

Currently on hiatus, The Calling were originally formed in LA by Alex Band (vocals) and Aaron Kamin (guitars) in 2001. The pair met when Kamin was dating Band's sister. After signing a deal with RCA the duo took on extra musicians - Sean Woolstenhulme (guitar), Billy Mohler (bass) and Nate Wood (drums) - to facilitate the recording and release of their debut album Camino Palmero. The first single "Wherever You Will Go" achieved the most success for the band, charting in the Top Ten in both the US and UK and has been featured in many films, TV ads and programmes. The Calling's second album (minus Woolstenhulme, Wood and Mohler) Two, released in 2004, was not as successful spawning only one minor hit "Our Lives". Alex Band has stated that he is currently working on a solo project.
