Overview Edit

Welcome to the Monkey House is the fourth album by The Dandy Warhols. The songs were produced by Courtney Taylor-Taylor and/or Nick Rhodes of Duran Duran, except "Rock Bottom," which was produced by Courtney Taylor-Taylor and Tony Visconti. The album was mixed by Jeremy Wheatley. The album's cover is probably an homage to the Velvet Underground's classic debut album, The Velvet Underground & Nico, which was produced and designed by Andy Warhol.

Maybe it's too soon for me to be giving my opinion on this release since I've only had it a for a week and listened to it about four times. It's a bit of a departure from 13 Tales, which is what I'd expect from a band w/ such potential. Less guitar and more effects...where I'm having trouble is about half-way through there are a number of slowed down, drawn-out tunes..sort of loses momentum. But this is where maybe I feel I need more time to get used to the disc and what they're going for here. …
