5 stars This Winter Isn't Bleak
His musical prowess is undeniable, as the Echoing Green's Joey Belville creates syrupy sweet synth pop. Warm bass lines, aggressive beats, luscious harmonies, and beautiful melodies add up to terrific pop songs.

3 stars expectations too high?
I don't know, other than New Gold Dream and Fall Awake (which are fantastic) this CD doesn't do much for me. The songs are way short of anything on Songs from the Ocean Picture; there's too much electronic noodling and attempts at trip-hop, and not enough solid melodies.

Hate to say it, but I expected a little more from this.
