Axel Willner is a minimal techno pioneer from Stockholm, Sweden, who goes under the alias The Field. He signed to independent German techno label Kompakt in 2005 and released his debut album, From Here We Go Sublime, in March 2007. It was widely critically acclaimed as the best example of the minimal techno genre yet released, and praised for its ambient textures which are influenced by early Aphex Twin. From Here We Go Sublime is sure to be a contender in several Album Of The Year polls at the end of 2007.
