One of the Greatest Albums of All TimeMost of what they did before this was good in its way, but it was just working up to "Automatic", their masterpiece! This time they got everything right. Some of what they did after this was good too, but none of it ever measured up to the monstrous ass-kickers on "Automatic".These are high-energy war dances that will quickly get you out of any blues or minor depression you may be experiencing. They might also make you want to learn to play the drums or guitar.
fun, but with little substance"Automatic" is my least favorite JMC album, which, perhaps, is a testament to my opinion of the band, because I think it's quite a bit of fun. I just think most of the songs sound quite similar, and, besides occasionally wonderful electric guitar work, consist of "paint-by-numbers" type instrumentation.
