Biography

Edit

The Postal Service is an American band comprising Ben Gibbard (Death Cab for Cutie) and Jimmy Tamborello (Dntel Headset Figurine) who have collaborated together on this project while still active in their other bands.

To date they have released one electronica focused indie-pop album Give Up (2003) for which they were assisted by Chris Walla from Death Cab for Cutie who recorded some of the guitar, drums and keyboards. The album grew from Gibbard's input into the track "(This Is) The Dream of Evan and Chan" which featured on Dntel's Life is Full of Possibilities (2001).

They have released three EPs (Such Great Heights (2003), The District Sleeps Alone Tonight (2003) and We Will Become Silhouettes (2005)) and plans for a new full length album are now underway.
