Biography

Edit

Indie-rock supergroup The Raconteurs are best known as the successful side-project of The White Stripes' Jack White and singer-songwriter Brendan Benson. Patrick Keeler and Jack Lawrence of The Greenhornes complete the line-up, whose debut single "Steady, As She Goes" topped the US Modern Rock chart and peaked at No.4 in the UK singles chart. Debut album Broken Boy Soldier was named Album of 2006 by respected British music magazine Mojo. Elsewhere it received warm praise and sold almost half-a-million copies, which suggests it shouldn't be termed a 'side-project' for anyone but the multi-million-selling White.

In 2008 they released second album Consolers of the Lonely.

In Australia they are known as The Saboteurs because there is already a Queensland band with the name Raconteurs.
