Smashing Love Song"Stand Inside Your Love" is spectacular,a huge,booming,stadium-shaker,full of sonic fireworks and Billy Corgan's swoon inducing vocals.It was released when the Pumpkins had to prove they still had something like this in them,after thier pastoral mood experiment "Adore" left a lot of fans scratching thier heads.In that context, "Stand" is a triumphant statement of purpose,but in the long run,I think it will be seen as a classic love song,one that equals the rush of giddyness and dread and excitement and desperate,sweet pain that comes with love.
Good For Collectors.Billy Corgan and Smashing Pumpkins make outstanding music. This particular song is good, but not among the best in their quality body of work.When I purchased this single and "Machina", I thought I was going to find "Ava Adore", my all time favorite Corgan classic. My local rock station had "Ava..." in heavy rotation during the release of "Machina", which I also bought. "Stand...", and the rest of "Machina" has some superior moments, but "Adore" and "Siamese Dream", plus the "Rotten Apples" aw…
