Swedish new wave band The Sounds were formed in 1999 by Felix Rodriguez and Johan Bengtsson, joined by Maja Ivarsson, Frederick Nilsson and Jesper Anderberg.

The band hit the ground running with their debut album Living in America. The album won four Swedish Grammis and helped establish a profile for the band in the US, with the single of the same name. The band toured relentlessly, alongside act such as The Foo Fighters and Panic! At the Disco, and joined the Warp tour in 2004. The Sounds' relocated to the States to record their second album Dying to Say This to You.The album contains "The Queen of Apology", a remixed version of which was used in the film Snakes on a Plane.
