Overview Edit

In Love and Death is the second studio album by The Used. It was released on September 28, 2004 and has since been certified gold. It is their most well-received and successful album to date. This was the first album for which Alex Pardee did the artwork, and he has done all artwork for The Used since, excluding the 2009 record, Artwork. The title and music reference a number of tragic events that surrounded vocalist Bert McCracken during the album's production, notably the death of his pregnant girlfriend.

The band has matured in plenty of ways. For starters, the …

2 stars A change for the worst
Let me first start this review by saying The Used's self-titled deubt is gold. It's one of the few albums out there that's worth every penny for every song. There's not a single track on s/t that I don't like. The Used were one of the best new bands. So obviously I had high expectations for this follow-up. Unfortunatly, the Used failed to deliver. "Take it Away" was a good first single, much like "A Box of Sharp Objects" was, but the rest of the cd is horrible. It lacks the raw intensity the fir…
