MagicalThis review is directed to people like me - 40-somethings who believe that music for the most part entered a vast wasteland at some hard-to-pin-down date, but it was sometime in the late 1970s. Sort of monotonous...If you like shoegazing music, you'll like this. If you like the strong melodies and lyrics of the Bittersweet Symphony era Verve, this is a little disappointing. Ashcroft's voice is washed out with deep reverbs and McCabe's guitars are similarly muddied. Not a bad album, but definitely not a great one. I'd rather listen to a Ride or My Bloody Valentine album for this type of music.
