The Wallflowers is an American rock band. The current members are Jakob Dylan (the famous son), Fred Eltringham, Greg Richling and Stuart Mathis.
Although they released a debut album The Wallflowers in 1992 they broke up briefly as a result of in-fighting. The album was not particularly successful at the time but sold well later on.
All went quiet, and then after this apparent false start the band reappeared with a new line-up and a big bang. In 1996 they released the 2x Grammy, 4x platinum winning Bringing Down the Horse. An extended and successful tour followed with a pit stop to record a cover of "Heroes" for the film Godzilla.
It was to be four years before their next album was released. (Breach) (2000) peaked at No.13 on the Billboard charts and spawned the singles "Sleepwalker" and "Hand Me Down".
With their next album Red Letter Days (2002) the sound became somewhat harder, as evidenced on the single "Everybody Out of the Water".
Their most recent album was Rebel, Sweetheart (2005) and, although the band did not tour in 2006, they announced that they would be touring in the latter part of 2007.
