Three Days Grace is the alt-metal band which has found success out of tragedy, when their second album, written in rehab, went on to outperform a platinum selling debut.
Their debut album Three Days Grace was released in 2003, from which the singles “I Hate (Everything About You)” and “Just Like You” performed well in the rock charts. The album eventually achieved platinum status.
Unfortunately Adam Gontier, vocalist and songwriter for the band, became addicted to painkillers and underwent a stint in rehab during 2005. While there, he penned much of the material that found its way onto their second album One-X (2006). The album was a commercial success, reaching No.5 on the Billboard 200 and spawning the hit singles “Animal I Have Become”, “Pain” and “Never Too Late”.
