Tim McGraw is a multi-award-winning country singer with a string of chart topping albums to his credit. The tracks “Indian Outlaw” and "Live Like You Were Dying” are among his biggest hits. The handsome Louisianan helped define contemporary country at the end of the century
Although he went to college, he dropped out on the day his hero, Keith Whitley died in 1989, intent on making music his career. He spent some time singing in Nashville clubs and secured a record deal after a couple of years. Unfortunately his debut album Tim McGraw (1993) failed to make any impact on the charts. His follow-up Not a Moment Too Soon (1994) fared better, especially when "Indian Outlaw" hit both the country and mainstream pop charts. Not a Moment Too Soon (1994) was his multi-platinum selling third album which distinguished itself by becoming the best-selling country album of the year. All I Want (1995) continued the success and the ensuing tour had the additional benefit of introducing him to Faith Hill, who was his support act. By the end of the tour, they were married.
His success was assured and, one by one, his albums hit the top of the country music charts; they often hit the upper reaches of the mainstream charts too. His stellar career has been marked with many awards and with a country mix that includes ample doses of stadium rock, tender balladry, and pop hooks.
His most recent album was 2009's Southern Voice, which debuted at the top of the Country and Billboard charts. His new album, Emotional Traffic, is expected to be released in 2011.
