Biography

Edit

The American folk rock group Toad the Wet Sprocket were formed in 1986 by singer Glen Phillips, guitarist Todd Nichols, bassist Dean Dinning, and drummer Randy Guss.

Their debut album Bread and Circuses was released in 1989, while the band were still at High School. Although a rough and ready sound, it is considered by fans to be amongst their best work and offers a glimpse of what was to come. They achieved commercial success with their third and fourth releases, Fearand Dulcinea. Both albums went platinum, promoted by the singles "Walk on the Ocean" and "Fall Down" respectively. After one more album, which was not as successful, the band split to pursue solo careers. They come together occasionally to play live dates.
