The oceans on Venus are running over..."1000 Oceans" is one of the brightest spots on her double-CD, "To Venus and Back." It has a feeling about it that is hard to define. The song is centered around the idea of tears, so many tears that they fill oceans--tears of loss, but also of hope. "I would cry 1000 more if that's what it takes to sail you home." Cry with me(please?) :<So-so CD.1000 oceans is one of the better songs on To Venus & Back(not too great of an album,by the way).It also has 2 lives:Baker Baker and Winter.Baker Baker is excellent live(it even has a new introduction which opens the song quite well).I wish I could say the same for Winter.Don't get me wrong,it's one of my favorite Toris',but the odd pauses and rests in the phrases are a bit annoying.If you don't own To Venus and Back,get this single,but if you own both that and Little Earthquakes(which you SHOULD)it's a pointless purchase.
