Overview Edit

Jackinabox is the third studio album by the British band Turin Brakes. Recorded in their own recording studio in Brixton during 2004, the album includes the singles "Fishing For a Dream" and "Over and Over". It is the follow-up to Ether Song. The album reached no. 9 in the UK Charts in the first week, despite the fact that first single "Fishing For A Dream" did not sell well (charting at no. 35). Also released with a bonus DVD and on vinyl. The song "Red Moon" was later recorded in an unplugged version and released as an EP with new material.

The Japanese version featured a bonus track "Where I've Been" which was not released elsewhere.

with Simon and Garfunkel than any pop music. Based in Brixton, but their heart

remains in Southern California. Their inspirations lie in some records made in

the 1970s. The first song "They Can't Buy The Sunshine" exposes the British

fascination with good weather…

3 stars Not their best, but still better than most.
Being one of the apparent few americans lucky enough to be introduced to the band when "optimist lp" arrived 5 or so years ago, I have been an avid listener and anxiously awaited this new release. Having listened to the album three times in the last three days, however, has left me a bit let down. At the very least, it sounds like turin brakes, so it can't be all that bad.
