Overview Edit

Dubnobasswithmyheadman is the third album by Underworld, released in 1994 after the band made the transition from synth pop to something more akin to trance music. It is also the first album to feature Darren Emerson, ushering in the "MK2" phase of the band, which continued until Emerson's departure in 2001.

A prototype of the album surfaced on October 3, 2008, on Underworld's official messageboard, which featured a different running order, some extended mixes and three previously unreleased songs: "Big Meat Show", "Organ" and "Can You Feel Me", an outtake from previous sessions. "Organ" has since been featured on Underworld's MySpace page.

5 stars A must-have recording
Quite simply, this is one of the all-time best "electronica" albums out there - bar none. An essential recording in the genre. It's all here, from stomping 4/4 dance-floor tracks (e.g. Cowgirl) to trippy, spaced-out ambient stuff (e.g. Tongue, Mother Earth).

Some people may find some of the songs a little too long, or too repetitive (most of the songs are at least 7-8 minutes long, and most have trancey, repetitive beats), but if you like trance, the repetition aspect will be nothing new.

1 stars THIS ALBUM SUCKS!!!
IT'S SOOOO BORING, WITH AN ALBUM THAT STARTS WITH THE WORD 'DUB' YOU'D THINK THEY'D DROP SOME BASS AND MAKE THOSE COOL NOISES LIKE "WUHB WUHB WUHB", NOT THIS PRETENTIOUS OVERRATED WANNA-BE SKRILLEXES THAT FAIL AT THAT TOo!

Dark & Long: Good title for the name, because it felt like it would never end LOL!

MMMM Skyscraper I Love You: You think the last song was long?!? This one's like 12 minutes! Talk about wasted time, think of all the sweet drops I could've listened too in that time!
