Black Eyed Pea will.i.am is on top of the world right now, with his group's new album The E.N.D. topping the Hot 200, and that album's lead single, "Boom Boom Pow," counting ten successive weeks so far on top of the Hot 100 chart. But he's now been accused of assault by gossip blogger Perez Hilton, who alleges that will.i.am and his bodyguards resorted to violence after he directed a few barbed words at the rapper. They were both attending the MuchMusic Video Awards in Toronto, where Black Eyed Peas performed and won an award for International Group of the Year. Things apparently turned sour later, as indicated by a message from Perez's Twitter just before 4am on Monday morning: "I'm in shock. I need the police ASAP. Please come to the SoHo Metropolitan Hotel now. Please." He continued to tweet through the night, and later posted an emotional video alleging that he was hit by will.i.am’s manager after they had an argument over his coverage of will.i.am’s bandmate Fergie. Will.i.am denied anything beyond the argument, but did admit that “one of the fans gets all crazy and they start some stuff with Perez Hilton, and I'm just sitting there just minding my own business waiting for a car and whatnot.” Will.i.am's manager, Polo Molina, was arrested, and is expected to face charges at a later date.
