Yannis Philippakis (born 23 April 1986) is a singer of the alternative indie band Foals. He is of Greek and Jewish descent and studied English literature at St John's College, Oxford, but dropped out after his first year to pursue music.
In a BBC 6 hub session interview Philippakis expressed his desire to write 'Ballet with beats'.
Along with this, he will be touring Foals' second album Total Life Forever - intentions to develop his Bins Are For Bombs project with former Foals and Youthmovies member Andrew Mears appear static, but may be rekindled at some point in the near future.
Philippakis also appeared on Series 21 of BBC's Never Mind The Buzzcocks, on 24th January 2008.
