Biography

Edit

Yellowcard is an American pop-punk band formed in 1997. The current members are Sean Mackin (violin/vocals), Ryan Key (vocals/guitar), Peter Mosely (bass), Ryan Mendez (guitar) and Longineu W. Parsons III (drums) though Mackin is the only member remaining from the original group.

Midget Tossing was their first release in 1997 followed by Where We Stand whereupon the group signed a deal with Lobster Records and moved to California.

One for the Kids (2001) was their first release for Lobster and which was well received by their growing fan-base but shortly after the release of the EP The Underdog (2002) they signed to Capitol Records. Ocean Avenue (2003) and the title single were the releases which marked their warm reception into the mainstream. The album went on to sell over two million copies in the US.

Lights and Sounds was released in 2006. Considered by the band to be an ambitious album, there were concerns that it would alienate their fans. They were proved right when the album only achieved gold status. Paper Walls was a compromise album, with enough to please old and new fans alike. It debuted at No.13 on the Billboard charts.
