I didn't honestly think these guys could do it. I'm not going to try to hide my feelings anymore. After "One for the Kids," I didn't think it would be humanly possible for the band to outdo themselves..every single song on that CD was brilliant, and their poppy, catchy melody accented with the violin is nearly unbeatable. Somehow, by some insane chance, they did it again with this 5-song EP on FBR (though I believe the band is signed to Capitol).

"Underdog" immediately pulls the listener in for one of the most insane rides through innovation and non-stop catchy melodies and constantly sickening guitar riffs that just don't stop. It's one hell of a catchy tune, as are all the songs (by the band, for that matter), and although the lyrics are simple ("one more trip down, to the lost and found, to find your heart that the quarterback punk stomped on the ground"), the blending of guitar and violin are insanely brilliant. "Avondale" doesn't stop the rock, and for the first time Ryan (or Sean, whoever) breaks into a slight scream at a point. Magnificent. Finish Line and Powder are also both equally as great, and then "Rocket" blasts off into a slow progressive rock ballad that just kills. This EP is by far the best 5 consecutive songs I have ever heard by any band in my long life of emo/pop punk rock. Not getting it would be a sin.

I recently wrote a 1-star review for some cd called "punk goes acoustic" and i got a hate mail saying that "Yellowcard are one of the most talented and original bands of today"- I think I speak for every person that has a brain when I say...... WHAT THE HECK ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT???? ORIGINAL- what is he on, crack?? They sound like EVERY OTHER STUPID ANNOYING POP PUNK BAND!!!!!!!! TALENTED?? Wow they play 2 power chords back & forth- amazing... and I don't really care if they have a violin player- they STILL suck just as hard as all other pop-punk crap!!!!!!!

If you're one of the few dumb folks who think "Yellowcard are talented and original"- please email me telling me why.. if you Yellowcard groupies are too dumb enough to know how to do that, you CLICK MY MEMBER NAME AND MY EMAIL ADRESS IS RIGHT THERE!!!

Why dont you little kiddies go buy a little album called LONDON CALLING by a little band called THE CLASH to hear what PUNK ROCK is!!!!!!!
