American rapper Young Buck is a member of hip-hop group G-Unit, and in common with many of his contemporaries, his lyrics refer to the law-breaking, on-the-edge lifestyle that rap has allowed him to escape from.
Aged 16 Young Buck was signed by Brian 'Baby' Williams to rap with Cash Money Crew. On tour with Cash Money Crew, he was spotted by rapper 50 Cent and asked to rap on "Blood Hound" from 50's Get Rich or Die Tryin' album, and on G-Unit's double platinum Beg For Mercy album.
He released his debut album Straight Outta Cashville in 2004. The album, featuring collaborations with 50 Cent, Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg, went in to the Billboard 200 at No.3 and has subsequently gone platinum. His follow-up, Buck the World, debuted at No.1 on the R&B/Hip-Hop album chart.
