Young Jeezy had to release two albums independently before winning a deal: after the second one, Come Shop Wit' Me (2003), managed to sell 50,000 copies, he finally earned a contract with Def Jam. Let's Get It: Thug Motivation 101 (2005) was his mainstream debut, and it sold almost two million records in America thanks to MTV coverage for the six released singles. The Inspiration (2006), boosted by lead single "I Luv It", has been certified platinum. In May 2007, the Young Jeezy-formed trio UDA released a mixtape called Cold Summer: The Authorized Mixtape, which hit No.4 in the pop charts.
Young Jeezy features as a playable character in the Def Jam: Icon video game.
