Biography

Edit

Zilch is an alternative/industrial rock band formed in 1996 by Hideto "hide" Matsumoto (formerly in X Japan), Ray McVeigh (formerly in The Professionals), Paul Raven (of Killing Joke), Joey Castillo (of Danzig and Queens of the Stone Age) and I.N.A. (of Hide with Spread Beaver).

Before the release of its first album, 3.2.1., the group already faced a major setback, as frontman hide died in May 1998. At the request of hide's parents, the band did however continue to perform live, with the help of several guest musicians and released a remix album based on their debut and another studio album, SkyJin, along with two singles, "Mimizuzero" featuring Kool Keith and "Charlies Children".

Zilch disbanded in 2002.

In October 2007, bassist Paul Raven died of a heart attack.
