Lyricist, Composer, Performer, multi instrumentalist and Artistic Director Gerald TOTO is not only a man of many skills. Over the years, he has proved that he is a man who has learned to use his skills in to share his perception and define his wisdom. Gerald TOTO has built a career by marrying a questioning of his own cultural identity (West Indian) and his musical identity.

Part of the underground scene in the middle of the 90's, he chose a new direction by becoming the artistic director and composer of the first album of the well known Faudel (writing songs such as " Tellement je t' aime").

On the heels of the commercial success Gerald Toto released his first album les premiers jours (Warner, 1998), which was a refined mix of cashew music and the music of Daniel Lanois.

Then for a few years he worked with a number of people, from middle eastern electro with the band Smadj, to the vocal improvisations of Toto Bona Lokua (which reminds us of Bobby McFerrin), released by the band he formed with Richard Bona and Lokua Kanza.

In 2006 Gerald released a second solo album Kitchenette (V2music), which was proof of his growth as an artist with a sense of poetry and freedom. During this time he became part of Nouvelle Vague and released Bande à part (Perfect Kiss), from which we all remember his cover of “Don't go” and “Heart of Glass”.

About to release his third Album Spring Fruits Gerald Toto, seems to want to share with us a realistic, passionate and strong and raw vision of a world, which more than ever seems to be in need of its artists.
