Puerto Rican rapper Daddy Yankee is a superstar in Latin America and often performs in front of crowds of over 100,000. In America and the UK he is known as being responsible for popularising reggaeton, thanks to his massive hit single "Gasolina" and the album Barrio Fino (2004). "Gasolina" was a worldwide hit and the first taste of reggaeton for many people. Barrio Fino went on to sell over nine million copies worldwide, and an extended version called Barrio Fino en Directo (2005) has also sold over a million copies. It featured Daddy Yankee's second biggest hit, "Rompe", which topped the Hot Latin Tracks chart for three months. In 2007, Daddy Yankee released El Cartel: The Big Boss, the proper follow-up to Barrio Fino, which sold around a million copies in just a few months.
