James Patrick Page OBE (born 9 January 1944) is an English guitarist, composer and record producer. He began his career as a studio session guitarist in London and was subsequently a member of The Yardbirds from 1966 to 1968, after which he co-founded the English rock band Led Zeppelin.

Page has been described as "unquestionably one of the all-time most influential, important, and versatile guitarists and songwriters in rock history". In 2003, Rolling Stone magazine ranked Page #9 in its list of the 100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time. He has been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame twice, once as a member of The Yardbirds (1992) and once as a member of Led Zeppelin (1995).

  • As a session musician, it is estimated Page played on upward of 50% of the records released in the UK from 1963 to 1965.
  • Page is credited as a writer on every Led Zeppelin song bar "All My Love" and "South Bound Suarez"
  • Jimmy Page became the first artist to be immortalised in the British Walk of Fame in August 2004. "It's a real privilege and a great honor to be the first. I'm really chuffed," said Page. "A Walk of Fame is a fantastic idea, and it's high time we had one in London."
  • June 2005: Page was awarded the title "Officer of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire" - one of Britain's highest honors - by Queen Elizabeth II for his charity work on behalf of poor children with Task Brazil and the ABC Trust charity organizations. Jimmy became a founding patron of ABC Trust in 1997.
  • June 2008: Page was awarded an honorary doctorate by the University of Surrey for services to the music industry.
