It's not unusual to find a singer willing to shift styles through the years to keep up with musical trends. What is unusual, though, is finding one who's so appealing that leagues of women lose themselves to lust, resulting in the mass throwing of untold pairs of underpants onto stages everywhere. Tom Jones' big baritone has served him well since the 60s; his hits hang onto their appeal for their over-the-top playfulness, and also for Jones' hulking he-man delivery. "It's Not Unusual", "What's New Pussycat?", "Thunderball", "Delilah" and "She's a Lady" are all bona-fide pop classics, but Jones' biggest success came a generation later. Reload (2000) was a duets album which sold over four million copies worldwide. Friskiness, no doubt, is Tom Jones' forte, but fans know there's substance behind all that swagger.
