This is definitely the best Cryptopsy album. It may not be as complex as _Whisper Supremacy_, but that album cannot match this one's audacious brutality and the sheer breathless rush of its bloody, inhuman onslaught. The riffs are all 'round better on this one also. The songs are unrelentingly fast, brutal, and Flo Mournier is the evil master of hyper-blastbeats. The music is broken up by high-speed tempo shifts, bone-shearing grooves, and twisted rhythms. Lord Worm's vocals are classic -- completely incomprehensible growling, and yet the music could not have been served any other way. Cryptopsy is truly brutal death metal, and yet musically sophisticated. Best of all, it has a strange trance-like quality to it, much like the most intense free-jazz, which is also a 'noisy' and intense form of music. For all we know, there might be some place in some layer of Hell that sounds like this. That's all I'm gonna say, you don't need a really long review for an album like this. Pick it up if you want a taste of mega-brutality.

This album is the equivent of taking the music being takin in through your ear drums and putting it on Cocaine. The result is Cryptopsy's NONE SO VILE. THe album starts off with a clip from the exorcist 3,leading into a hyper speed blasting drums frenzy with speeeding guitars,and extremely sick vocals by lord worm. He sounds like the guy from the exorcist 3 when he does that roar. The result puts a smile to my face. THrough out the sonic beating being taken into your ears, are some sick slamming grooves and breakdowns(benadictive convolsions) with some funky bass lines thrown in for good measure. The only time this one slows down besides slammin breakdowns is a PIANO intro for the epic "Phobophile". The psychotic frenzy ends with a shotgun blast from Ash taken out of I believe Evil Dead 2 or Army of darkness. What were my thoughts after the album was over?....first the thought of "sick","WOW that was insane!","AWSOME!". I did enjoy this album it was some of the most insane stuff I have ever heard. THe drumming and the bass come to mind in being very technical. The guitars were technical as well although I have heard harder to pull off. So why doesnt it get 5 stars? Well I don't just throw out 5 star reviews to anything just because it's "BROOTLE or INSANE DUDE!" Some of the album seems to drag out a bit past track 6 and a bit on track 1 and 2 untill the crazy bass licks and breakdowns come in with 1000 mph double bass drums. For what it is. It's very good. For heavyness? Yea it's heavy. For skill? It's got skill? For being one of the best Death metal releases ever? Meh, no. But it is a a cult classic I can see for what it is. And if you just feel the need to have a cd in your collection that's just strait foward Brutal and insane. GO BY THIS CD. Anyone into extreme music must also have this gem of brutality added to their collection. So what are you waiting for.......go out and buy this now!
